Drew and Jared feigning death

Drew spent almost every weekday afternoon of high school at Jared and Audrey's house, often doing nothing.

One day, Jared walked by his bedroom to find Drew hanging himself by the pull cord of the ceiling fan, presumably dead.

It was, of course, a prank... though it was made slightly unbelievable by the fact that Drew was too tall to “dangle” from the cord, so he was just standing straight up with it wrapped around his neck. Still, it was a shocking sight.

While just meant to be a joke, there was a lot of truth to it that only those who grew up in the stupid household may ever understand.

Jared responded with his own suicide attempt. Drew came home to find Jared lying down on the living room carpet with a pill bottle next to his head and a trail of three pills leading from his mouth to the bottle. The pills were baby aspirin.

The boys continued to reenact these pranks to others in the home, but it's unknown whether anyone else noticed or responded. There was absolutely no point to it other than for their own sick amusement.  ❐
