John and Ariel

John and Ariel were Audrey's anthropomorphized feet, as imagined by Jared.

Jared had an aversion to (utter) bare feet, so the likening of someone's feet to two talking pets was a way of reducing his discomfort.

John and Ariel were brother and sister twins, with John being the left foot and Ariel the right. The toes served as five eyes, the heel was the butt, and there was an imagined mouth in the center. Jared would occasionally ask them questions, and he liked harshly tickling the base of the toes. John was also the foot with the rash.

There was really nothing weird about it; it was silly sibling play that was almost like making talking puppets out of one's hands... just with feet. With as insane as Jared was and is, this particular quirk barely registered.  ❐
